I did a search and came across a vague @ best on how to remove.

I will not be removing entire mirror assembly.

What mentioned was tilting mirror to the sky and there should be some clips..remove mrrror then push down tabs inside housing to release front cover.

First off there is very little gap to even see underneath mirror..these are power mirrors btw.

Just looking for some insight.

Youtube has vids to remove entire assembly but thats not what I am after.

Thanks again.

I have color match upol paint and 2K clearcoat and want to get this done today if possible...or I was thinking of masking the job which could quite easily be done too.

My car is not with me right now so I can't look at it. I may be wrong but I believe the all black mirrors you and I have do not have a cover. The coloured mirrors are a cap that snaps onto what we have.

Edit: just read one of your other threads so it appears you got it figured out.

tilt the mirrors till it faces the sky, grab under it, and pull.

Pulling mirror off was not a logical way of removing cover.

I decided to use a narrow putty knife and start at the top working around untill it clips off.

Here is how it turned out.

You must start at the top as the bottom has the the 2 large hooks on the back of the mirror covers.

Personally I would not advise anyone to brute forcing the mirror off as there is too many things that could break. It may be different for non electric mirrors though.

I tried but decided not too.Way too much force would be needed and I could see something snapping/breaking inside.

I worked my way around with narrow plastic putty knife starting from top and it popped off.

Hope this helps others.
