The photos that I see of this unit have the Divx certified logo in the front and the factory sticker, so I suppose it can play videos at least with that codec. (divx is something that i used a lot about 10 years ago).
But ... my kenwood also has this certification and i cannot get it to play any videos, so I recommend you to test using USB or SD card formated as fat32 and try to play some files.
