Did a little searching and found most posts dedicated to Echo/Yaris swaps. What I'm wondering is if older xa, xb(first gen) shocks will fit my 2001 Echo? I'm finding some pretty good deals on xa, xb shocks, but I think I've read somewhere(probably here:biggrin:) that they will fit- just not set for the proper weights.

If so, is there that much of a difference in weight between the three to make a difference? The fronts I'm ok on, I'm just concerned with the rear shocks for now. I'm keeping the factory springs also. Thanks!

I heard xB front struts will make the car sit higher. I'd go with xA front struts.

thanks for the link! i often just think of yarisworld when searching. the page on toyotanation keeps mentioning struts. is that just generic for dampers in general or are they referring to actual struts? the xa fronts i've already decided on, now i'm just trying to figure-out what will fit in the back(shocks) without making it sit even higher than it already is. i'm going to stick with stock springs for now- i just want something to keep the car from bouncing on major dips:barf:.

thanks again!
