First post. I wonder how you can scratch your wheels so badly. I guess the driver just likes to park really close to curb stones. Or was this a reason why a mad man broke up with his girlfriend ? Who knows ...

Anyways back and front wheels were both mess up really bad and i wonder if these really deep curbs can actually damage the wheel to a point where you can't use them anymore safely.

Please don't get all triggered because of the women can't park joke. It's all fun and games.

because someone wanted rim to poke out beyond the tire, and/or wheel to poke out beyond the fender?
recessed rim was part of why I used 175/70 tire on 5" rim (stock Yaris 14"), and 185/65 on 5.5" rim (stock Miata 14").
(maybe photo damage was not by parking.)

Almost looks too uneven to be curb rash...

Yeah i was thinking that too. There were massive marks around the outside, but i'm not sure what else would cause the wheels to look like this.

The car was lowered a bit, but not to the point that you'd need smaller tires to make it fit. He also had stock Hyundai wheels and no spacers. So the wheels didn't poke out beyond the fenders.

Yeah, pretty strange.

My Yaris is already scraping with it's stock ride height. Kudos to everyone with lowered vehicles.

It's an air dam. It causes less drag if you force air to go around and down the clean sides of the car, instead of letting it go under and get hung up on all the mechanical stuff underneath the car.

Belly pans are an even more effective solution, giving the car clean drag on all surfaces, but only the really serious MPG cars like some hybrids, and electric cars, get those.

I see pickup trucks get gigantic air dams now. They look so goofy.
