3 years of ownership and one crappy wrap job later and I've finally come across a good deal on a real carbon fiber hood! I had to modify my hood latch bolt holes a bit for extra adjustment to hit the secondary latch but aside from that I was very impressed with the fitment. Hood is OEM style from Carbon Creationshttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170613/7a4af4ed3817d93a508a7f47dd3692bf.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170613/8d1dda981ecb425d5c25beb75acc6688.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170613/ed0987f526ebd9a638d1745772ad58e3.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170613/e5ba7ddf57f40ed410fb4aed4b780d84.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170613/47ee270381990ef046f6dc9188dad800.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170613/893fec717fd5144ff75bd0926991eb74.jpg

I actually came across a steal when my buddy local to me gave up hope on his build and he sold me this hood still new never installed for $350. May be picking up another carbon fiber goodie here soon too that I've been dying to own for the last 2.5 years but we'll see!

looks good! Do you know the regular price for it?

When I first got my Yaris I was thinking of a carbon hood and then I lifted the hood on the Yaris and it almost flew away...couldn't believe how light that thing is. Although I di like the look of it on your white Yaris

Like I said tho you will need to drill out your holes in your hood latch for further up adjustment as it doesn't engage the secondary latch. Plus who really wants to drill these hoods for pins? Lol

Looks great.

I've always wanted a CF hood, but I think both the Yaris and FR-S OEM hoods are super light already. Plus, I don't want to use hood pins (but I would highly recommend doing so as the latch on the CF hood can break off; I've seen several cars with a messed up windshield/roof because their CF hood flew open).

For sure there's not a whole lot of weight difference as the stock is so light. Had to jump on that price tho lol. If I do pins at all it'll be the flush mount but I can't get myself to do that right now

Definitely flush mount type. Adds to the aesthetics as well imo.

Ill look into seeing if my buddies shop is a vendor. Be pretty cool if I can find them in a carbon fiber finish

Looks great! Best investment for weight reduction in the CF category for me was the back hatch. I can lift and shut it with a pinky.

Helped Garm install the aerocatch back years ago. Definitely satisfying to click the latches shut

How's the install? Looks like you'd dremel it out.

Where did you get that? I'd be interested in learning more about brand/cost/etc.

Seibon sells them for around $900. I'm on their site right now and can't seem to get around in it. EBay typically has a few listings for Seibon CF Yaris hatchs every now and then though

Had to fab up some aluminum brackets for the pins to be mounted since there really is no place to mount pins on our cars. Other than that, dremel away lol

Take notice of the red pins where the bumper is held onto at two points. You would have to extend into the engine bay for pins to catch.

I wonder if those hoodlifts are still available anywhere. I doubt he has any left in the small stock he has sitting but everything comes from somewhere. Right now I just prop my hood using my driver wiper arm 😂

I have a set of them if you're interested. I installed the driver's side brackets then decided I didn't want to use them so I didn't fully install them and didn't use them at all. PM me if you're interested.
