Has anyone been able to retrofit fog lights from the previous generation (or universals) it looks like the bumper on my 2012 3dr LB has a spot where they would go.

Thanks,
Matt

The only difference is the trim piece. You can find trim pieces for the 3rd gen bumper (LE or SE trim specific) with openings for fog lights. The trim piece is just that, a trim piece. The mount for the fog light itself is on the backside of the bumper, and that trim piece is used only as a decorative cover.

That said, most (if not all) toyota fog light housings are the same amongst all models. Pick up some toyota specific fog light housings and a basic harness set up along with the proper trim pieces and you're good to go.

I found my kit on eBay for like $35, I have a 2014 model with the same bumper set up as yours.

All Toyota but the Sienna foglights actually perform well. You'll probably hate the performance and try to upgrade the bulbs. My suggestion would be to pick up a Morimoto XB LED plug-n-play foglight for the Yaris (unless you wanted warmer colors).

Awesome, thank you! Is there a good place to source the fog light trim pieces?

I bet eBay has some. A dealer isn't too expensive either

From my experience the fog lights from eBay suck! The trim pieces seem just as good as oem but if still purchase OEM. You can find used OEM on eBay and many insurance sites. I have to agree with kaotic on this one tho, the morimoto is going to put perform even OEM.

Sidenote I used to run aftermarket fogs in my 2010 and they got moisture, cracked, and baked the bowls with regular halogen lights so that's my experience.

I want those Morimoto ones. For now though I have LEDs in my reflector housings. They run cooler than the halogens so they don't melt and look better. I need new LEDs though mine are flickering, but I'll just get the whole Morimoto kit before I get new bulbs.

I know these are not the morimotos that everyone has suggested, but these are on micro images ebay page. Would these work okay? Or are they similar to the cheap ones you folks mention?

I have Hikari LED bulbs in mine, both head and fog.
2 yr warranty and 9600 lumens.
It's like natural daylight driving.
They have a little fan on back of bulb, so fitment in fog is fine, but headlamp, the covers are snug.
If I am to buy again, I would only buy the LED's for the fogs, or go with PIAA yellows for fog and the silverstar ultra or whatever the best halogens are.
That said, I am happy with purchase of Hikaris, only disappointment is high beam throw.
Work great on my wife's Camry, high beams are the ultras, fogs are yellow PIAA's and low beams are the Hikari LEDS.
I consider the Camry bulb selections the perfect set up.
I got all lights off Amazon.
