Anything is possible with enough time and money. As someone with a deficit of both I guess I have to ask why?

Mail delivery, for one thing. How about dual controls for driver ed? My favorite mod to solve the parallax and off angle light dimming of the central instrument pod is to put the driver right in the middle of an auto-trans gen 2 Yaris...then rear seat delete w/ a passenger bucket on each side somewhat rearward of the driver.

Having everything on the wrong side makes it difficult without a passenger. Its my experience when i take mine over to Europe. They drive on the wrong side of the road just like you guys do in the states. 😂
On a serious note i'm sure it could be done. You would need a dash pulled out of a JAP/UK/AUS market Yaris and while i'm not an expert you would also need a steering rack because the steering shaft connector would be on the wrong side. Not to mention you would need to swap the clutch and brake master cylinders and lines over to the other side and relocate the accelerator and the cables for it. I'm not familiar with the LHD Yaris but i might assume that the body module which is behind the glove box on the passenger side was moved over to the wrong passenger side for LHD and would need to be moved over to the old drivers side? Also you would need to swap chairs because the passenger seat has less adjustment than the drivers seat.

i agree, and i live here. i have never driven a RHD vehicle, but is sure makes sense to me to use your left hand and left foot for shifting. i'd also be good with center position, shifter on the left.
but, i have to use this stupid right hand for shifting....

I've never had the chance to drive a LHD manual, but i think it would take a few days to get used to shifting with my right hand. Whenever i've driven a LHD hire car in the US or Canada they always give me an automatic. 😐

Thats cause 90% of the population here are all catastrophically allergic to a clutch

Only 90 percent?
I don't know what the percentage here is, but there are a number of vehicles where you have to order a manual as a special build, and expect that it will be worth less as a trade in when you sell it.
Unfortunately my wife has never learnt to drive a manual, and refuses to do so. So I'm stuck with having an automatic.

I can't understand why someone uses an automatic gearbox in such a small engine. Personally I have the 1.3L with the 101hp and a 6 speed manual. I couldn't be happier.
Such a small engine does not need and auto. And especially toyota's auto is a crap (at least that's what I have read).
The only gearbox I could use in such a small engine is only the DSG from VW. They have made a great job with it.
Otherwise autos are for engines 2.0L and up.
Here in Greece manual is the most popular choice. An auto has 2000€ at least extra. And I really can't see why. Especially in such a small car they are crap. (Of course I don't compare them with the expensive cars that their gearboxes are engineer masterpieces.)

Written by motoring journalists who complain if the vehicle doesn't have all the latest "bells and whistles". The normal complaint is "why does Toyota still only have a four speed auto when everyone else has a five or sIx speed?"
We apparently don't get the cvt auto that some markets have in the Yaris because people don't like not feeling gear changes....

We have the U340E 4-speed auto transmission here in the US & Canada. I think it's a great transmission, hardly crap. I used to own a VW with DSG and in all honesty I prefer the Toyota 4-speed to the VW DSG. No lie.

I have driven a 2ZR Avensis with a CVT. I was pretty impressed with its performance. I would never own one though. I doubt it would last more than 100,000 miles before it blew up. Probably costs £5000 to buy a new one from Toyota.

6 or 7speed DSG because the 7speed DSG is some kind of s...
It has dry clutches and they dont work well seems like sliding clutches and hard shifting is almost standard with that 7speed DSG gearbox with code DQ200 which is rated for max 250nm.
The other DSG gearboxes with wet clutch like a MC is shifting very well and smooth
There is the old 6speed which is replaced with 7 speed now, so now they have 3 types of DSG gearboxes.
The 7 speed DQ200 with dry clutch you must avoid.
And two other 7 speed which is rated for higher torques than 250nm that has wet clutches, they shift very smooth if they are maintained with oil shift every 60000km-
I think the Toyota CVT is the only reliable CVT gearbox on the market.
There is Prius cabs in germany which has done more than 1million km with original engine and tranny.

But the main question is why four speeds. Come on. Move on Toyota. Move on

It was the 6-speed DSG in a TDI. It was fine on the highway but I found it kind of jerky in the city. It even stalled out several times. I thought there was something wrong with it but the dealer claimed it was working normally. However that was also the dealer's claim everytime something else was wrong with the car. So... Also the DSG required expensive dealer only service every 40K miles. The most problematic car I ever owned. I will never own another VW.

"double clutch" Ford automatics are having jerky problems.
(but why aren't we talking about RHD conversion?)

DSG's. Yet another solution to a problem that never existed before like CVT's or electronic handbrakes
