So first question goes:

Since hybrid has both the main 12V battery plus the hybrid batteries hidden together under rear seat, should the main battery go defective/needing replacement, is the car still capable to withdraw from the hybrid batteries to still start up the engine and run?

Irrespective if the above question is answered yes or not, can the main battery still be jump atarted using conventionl jump leads method, obviously running the cables to the rear aeat instead the bonnet and the kther ends to the donor car's bonnet?

With regards to accesories, an epic fail is the third gen yaris without a centre dome light, only one in the front above the head unit, we have a young son which is lways throwing toys around and that dome light is the only hope of finding stuff around, so ill be fitting a universal one and im also planning to fit a roof mount screen that flips open. With all the hype about hybrid high voltage etc, where would one suggest to source power from for both accesories or anything else requiring 12v?

I'm assuming the Yaris HSD is the same as our Prius c in terms of layout (we don't get the Yaris HSD here, and I'm sure you guys don't get the Prius c). There should be a positive lead under the fuse box under the hood. Flip the red cover over to expose it once you have found it. Attach the positive from the jumper there, and the negative to the chassis. Then jump start.

The traction (hybrid) battery cannot jump start the car, and cannot power the car if you run out of gas.

As for accessories, it's best to route that to the battery itself.
