Hi all, I use rain x( the orange kind) windshield washer fluid. My low fluid light has been on for weeks regardless of amount of fluid in reservoir. This happened begire and cleared up in a week. This time it was in for like 8 weeks. Not willing to dismantle the front end of the car to replace sensor, I ran reservoir almost dry and filled with distilled water in hopes the pure water would absorb any stickiness, grime that was making sensor stick. It took 2 weeks but windshield washer fluid light went out. Cheap fix that's worth a shot.

I'd probably run it till its gone and then use a garden hose to fill it up and try to loosen anything that might be stuck. If not. test the sensor and replace. The washer fluid sensor isnt difficult to replace as well if thats your last option.

You can try calling your local dealer. This is the cheapest place I found for this toyota part online. Just make sure it fits your model yaris. https://partsouq.com/en/search/all?q=+8539730400

I noticed my dash light doesn’t come on now when my washer fluid is low. Every other lights comes on when started (Could be a bad dash light), I’m guessing a bad fluid sensor on my 2012 Yaris SE with 266,000 miles.

Anyone else have this issue, before I buy a new sensor?

My low washer fluid light does not come on when I start the car either. I don't recall it ever doing so. I believe this is normal. Not all the dash lights illuminate at start up.

It does light up when washer fluid is actually low.
