Hi guys, I need some help.
My yaris broke down last night, during a heavy storm and left me stranded in the middle of nowhere.
I was pressing the throttle pedal but it didn't rev up, eventually stalling on me and shut off.
After that I couldn't get it to start, so I called the insurance and they sent someone with a tow truck (I was sitting there waiting for more than 2.5hrs).
We went to a friend's service shop, and he dropped me off home.
Today after examining it for several hours, and having taken the rear seats off, he concluded that the fault was the fuel level sensor in the tank.
The car shut off while showing 2 lines on the dash.
The fuel tank was completely dry.

So the price for the new sensor is 83€ (without labour).
I searched on ebay but nothing came up.

What do you call it, and how would I go on searching for this part?

Thank you for your time.

Wish I could help you out on this one.

When I had gotten my Yaris brand new, this same issue came up -- only opposite, and my fuel gauge showed empty when my tank was actually full (went to gas station and gas wouldn't pump into tank) Took it into Toyota and had it fixed under warranty.
