2015 3rd Brake Light Assembly/Bulb

Today I found out that my 3rd brake light is out. I have a 2015 Yaris Hatchback LE. Anyways I called the dealer - the same one where I bought the car last year and who has given me the run around about my bumpers for the past year....and they are pricing me the assembly at $144+. Is that an accurate price? I tried searching online and I don't really know what I am looking for. I did get the part number - I think - But I don't know if I need the entire assembly or if it's a bulb outage like the tail light bulbs. I am just still irritated over the bumper issue and now this. Thanks for your help.

According to Toyota, the 3rd brake light consists of a number of LEDs, so there is no bulb to replace. If you are electronically savvy, or know someone who is, you could probably remove and repair the light.

I assume Toyota's approach will be to remove the unit and replace it with a new one.

look online and see what interchanges.that light probably fits other Toyota cars.

Ebay has a replacement, not sure how well it fits but it is cheap.

With this being a 2015 model are you still not within the basic 36 month 36,000 miles warranty?

It is out of warranty by 1000 miles. Just my luck. I called the dealer back and he is having me come down there anyways. So maybe they will take care of it...and the bumper! thank you.
