Hi, I have the normal manual climate control unit, and i was looking to buy the digital one. Is it gonna be plug and play? I saw in a post that a guy has done it with some JDM parts but no link to that thread.
How difficult could it be and what parts would I have to buy except the digital control unit itself?

Not plug and play at all. The manual controls are hooked to the various parts with cables. The digital system uses stepper motors to move everything.

I see -- Let's say (hypothetically) I have all the money in the world and that I'm crazy enough to do that.
Any details, like what other parts should I get? I have a friend that has the same model with the digital AC control unit and he crashed it, so I could probably salvage something from that car.

Sadly, yet another feature that should be standard on the U.S. Yaris LE/SE.

CTScott was the guy who swapped a non-digital setup to a digital one, he has a video on Youtube showing that it functions. What I believe it came down to was that you needed to more or less swap everything from a parts car with all of the digital components over to the non-digital one. If you had all the money in the world to do the project, buy the car as-is from factory.
