After 10 years of service, the glove box door hinge has broken. Has anyone else gone to the trouble of repairing it? A replacement door is $185 from Toyota —not worth it for an old car. This is the upper door on the passenger side, aka "NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL BOX DOOR SUB-ASSEMBLY".
I had to remove the entire dashboard to access the screws. Now that I'm looking at it, I'm impressed that it even lasted this long, because the springs that hold the door open put tremendous force on the narrow bits of plastic. I tried superglue, but after just a couple of open/close cycles the glue failed.

Short of replacing on with a new door or a used one from a salvage yard, I think you best bet would be to try the zip tie stitch method. You would need to drill a few matching holes on each side of the break and zip tie it back together. It may not look pretty but will be plenty strong. I'd use some small black zip ties to minimize the effect. You could also try the plastic weld method using a soldering iron, but I think that would not be as strong.
