As more details come out, it turns out it does have plugs, but they won't be used all the time, only under certain conditions. Fascinating stuff, if they combined this with Nissan's variable compression ratio engine, it could make for some really efficient engines!

Actually there's different kinds of engine not in the market...like opposing piston engine.. Which has two pistons in each cylinder. Top and bottom piston compressing the gas and igniting it in the center.
