Hey, so basically my car makes i think a rattling noise when the steering wheel is spun all the way to either side, most noticeable when doing u-turns. It's definitely coming from the front and only when the wheel is turned in one direction almost all the way.
Any ideas what is is? Could it be a worn out joint in the front suspension?
08 Yaris Sedan (170K KM), bought it at 160'ish..
Edit: It might be just only when i go fully left on the steering wheel, haven't really examined it thoroughly yet.

Cv would be better then the alternative .....rack and pinion! Hope its a cheap and easy repare for you, mines in the garage for quite a bit of repare and TLC ....,anti roll bar bushes ,wheel bearings, rear brake load sensing valve ,welding on sill, rear seat belts (dog ate them) all in £180

So i actually haven't gotten around to having it checked.. Going for an oil change today at my mechanic and he'll have a look at it. Is the joint bad if the tin can rattle sound only comes up when the wheel is turned 100% to either direction or could it just be the cv boot?
I got quoted $250 per side for each "cv joints" but that's without having a look at the car. The car i bought for $4000 and already put some money into it on repairs lol.. Like new battery, serpentine belt..

The parts are available on Amazon for like $150 for both axles. Check it out.
I would be shopping around for a price. How many miles on the car?

Okay so it turns out my mechanic bent something and the noise is gone. I googled up tin can rattle and it was no where near that noise, it was just like a minor grinding noise of some sort. I don't know what he bent though lol, maybe a shield or guard somewhere?

This mechanic i actually found off a local forum, he's a pretty honest guy and is really busy. Maybe i should have listened more clearly but still a mystery lol. Either something at the back of the wheel/tire or back side of the car even though the sound was coming from the front of the car.
