So, I got a set of replacement headlights for my Yaris. The TYC brand.

They look pretty nice, and I thought I'd replace the HID with LED since my fogs are LED already.

But the kit I got seems really crappy lol. I have the same for the fogs and they work fine. The H4 rubber seal seems to cover alot of the heatsink. I know the fan will just cool it down. Just worried they will overheat.

Anyways, I'll try them out see what happens.

Here is the bulb installed prior installing the light assembly on the car. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170903/0631be5051de61ba2d45c064d9fed9d6.jpg

Well, the car looks great! Are the lights okay?

Well, the car looks great! Are the lights okay?I'm having hard time keeping that bumper attached correctly lol. Nothing much is keeping it attached UP. I'm missing most bottom clips and screws.
So, at the bottom, 3 screws are holding the plastic guards to the rad support, and the screw at each side of the wheel well. At the top, a couple cable ties hold the bumper up.

I just got it ajusted to, what seems to me, the best height aim, but I couldn't test on the road. It was raining, so light on the road doesn't really show much.

I hopefully will be able to test that soon, so I can aim the headlights properly.

Which is brighter HID or LED, or did you go LED because they have literally an unlimited service life?

And also, there are different power in LED lights. Some are 1600LM, others are 2500LM or 4000LM. You have to choose properly.

My HID kit is almost 10years old, although I put in new bulbs in recently, my headlights are still glitching sometimes. Maybe also due to the humidity getting in the assembly, so I decided to do the switch to LED to test them at the same time I put in new headlights.

Most likely your ballast is going bad, that's why you were still having issues even with new bulbs.
