I ride but am by no means hardcore. Did the same 3 years ago and swapped my fat knobby tires for hybrid rubber. Yes, the difference in speed and effort was astronomical. Figured since I was mostly on groomed trails and roads for the past decade, fighting the big tires made no sense.

Rode a Raleigh Competition Racing bike for years. Bought it new in 1977 and literally put thousands of miles on that bike. I maintained it as new, and it never let me down! Don't have a photo of it, but here it is in the 1977 catalogue.
Knowing I could never ride it again with my back injury, I tuned it and sold it about 5 years ago. The young guy I sold it to was a vintage racing bike enthusiast and fell in love when he saw it, so that helped with our parting.
Now, I regularly ride a vintage 6-speed Murray beach cruiser that I found for sale in mint condition at a Salvation Army Family Store priced at $65... on a 50% off everything in the store day, so $32.50.

wow
i remember the "reynolds 531" tubing sticker as being a big deal back in the 70s
and that long frame mounted pump, down tube shifters, cluster chain saver plastic thing and gigantic wheel reflectors

damn, the old headshock, C'dale has come a long way with their lefty fork.
I used to race nationally pro/elite xc and Cat 1/2 road racing a few years back. Ended up building my own time trial bike, favorite bike I ever built but sold it for my wife's engagement ring...yes bikes can be that expensive lol.
Bike wrenching is a good segway into car wrenching
Currently ride an old steel single speed, got tired of all the carbon in the culture and decided to go back to basics. Currently on a sabbatical from cycling due to med school and my 10 month old...life happens

I don't ride regularly, but if i do i usually do big tours. 2-4 days.
110 - 240 miles
I guess i'm more of a endurance rider and less of a racer.
And I am out of shape. When i race i notice it really quickly.
Riding at a medium pace for a long distance is no problem.
I rode bmx in the past, but i injured myself badly and got scared, so i quit that.
When my grandfather died i also inherited his Koga Miyata Gents Racer Aero from the early 80s. I'm not entirely sure which year, I think it's an 82.
It needs a little bit of work tho and unfortunately the frame is too small for me.

Shimano 600AX gruppo is pretty special. I believe pedals/cranks are "Dyna-Drive." (single bearing at crank arm lowers the foot.)

I haven't ridden them in years, but I have a pair of Cannondale full suspension mountain bikes (a SuperV700 and a SuperV3000) that I bought in the mid-to-late 1990s. At the time they were the best bikes around, and I even visited the factory in Bedford, Pennsylvania in 1999. I loved riding them but fell out of the sport as I grew older. It was just too rough on the knees and back!

I have more bikes and frames than I know what to do with because I got bit by the mountain bike bug about 5 or 6 years ago haha. The go-to bikes are my 06 Iron Horse W-Six, 95 Schwinn Moab Elite, 01 Schwinn Homegrown Pro, and a beater K2 Zed. The others are either in the middle of being rebuilt or I ride them occasionally depending on my mood. I was actually just wrenching on one of my 87 Schwinn Paramountains I'm building up to chase the spandex guys on.

I used to be a bike mechanic during my student years and been mountain biking for 7 years. At one point I had many many bikes, but now I'm down to 2, one Surly Troll commuter with 3spd internal gear hub and one GT XCR-3000 from year 2000, nothing stock but the frame and cassette. Carbon wheels, SID RCT3 fork, Monarch RT3 shock, 1x9 with X0 gripshift, narrow/wide 30t chainring, etc. bike is about 27~28lbs and shreds nicely. I'm out of shape since I've been 2 years without biking and started back 3 weeks ago. In the meanwhile I also built party bikes.

Wow, it seems very cool. By the way, I need some bicycle lights for the consecration, which shine well in the dark. Can someone here help me?

I think you can find it on Amazon. I can even attach a site with what you are looking for exactly https://www.amazon.com/Vont-Rechargeable-Illumination-Resistant-Accessories/dp/B078TB9TMK. I have ordered from Amazon many times and that is why I can recommend with confidence because the order comes quickly and everything is quality. I also needed some special flashlights for bicycles and I ordered from there and I really like their quality and the fact that the battery is rechargeable, which is a huge advantage
