Yes. What did you think would happen? RPM magically stop at 3000 despite asking more of your engine?

He's in UAE. I believe their sedan have a CVT transmission, and is not based on the Mazda 2.

But, it still works the same. The faster you go, the higher RPM it will be and needed.

This is more of a driving style problem than mechanical issue.

Once you reach 120km/h, release the acceleration pedal and press it again with light foot. notice the RPM, it should come slightly less down than 3000. And fuel average will also improve.

It's not a typo. kmpl is also correct term.

that is normal rpm for yaris.. as the saying goes you save fuel by driving not more than 55mph (88kph) and it is also related to your driving habits.. i mean not stepping on the gas pedal that hard... there must be a "steady soft touch" just to maintain your speed... but i doubt if you can maintain this speed in UAE... i have been there last month driving and almost all cars speed at ave 120kph-140kph... it would be difficult to switch lanes esp the roads are very wide if you just drive at 88kph should be atleast 100kph... when going back to Saudi i even reached 4000+ rpm at 130-140kph and i never did think about fuel consumption as i want to reach home fast, it was 11 hour drive going back to jubail from dubai with severe sandstorm and alternate rains...
