View Full Version : Should I replace the motor mounts?

Hi all. I have a 2009 Yaris sedan. It is coming up on 200k miles on the odometer. I was wondering if that is considered a time, when it would be a good idea to replace the motor mounts. It seems to me that 200,000 miles would probably take its toll on the engine mounts.

If not, is there a known interval for changing the mounts? After all they are a consumable part, they do wear out. And I'm someone who likes to replace things at the interval, so I get a chance to replace them before they break and cause me problems.

I wouldn't worry about it unless they actually break which is highly unlikely. The load on the mounts with an auto are fairly constant.

Yeah but the rubber bushing should wear out eventually. Or at least get to where its getting a good bit thinner that it is supposed to be. Maybe that doesn't happen till 300k

I only get clutch chatter w/ manual transmission when backing up. Any possibility this points to engine mounts as a problem? prolly 142k miles on everything.
