So I'm wanting to add a 12volt cigarette outlet to the trunk of my Yaris, to power a next-to-be-installed rear facing dashcam.
(I figured adding a 12volt cigarette outlet in the hatchback trunk, then using the dashcam's included 12v cigarette adapter, would be easier than hardwiring)
To install, I think I would just need to get a female socket like this one:

Then I can run the positive/negative wires (or ground the latter) to the front, and hook it up to the fuse box using an add-a-circuit? I probably only need the outlet to have power when the car is on, so I would find & tap into an switched fuse outlet.
That's my understanding on how I would go about doing so, but I'd appreciate confirmation if this is correct and any suggestions/advice! Thank you.
Oh, and I drive a 2014 Yaris hatch, in case that makes any difference.
