I love how its thru a stock airbox.
Whenever I get around finishing fabricating my turbo system I really wanted to retain a stock airbox. But the way I am routing the piping its just not going to work

Who did this and where? I'm curious how they figured out the tuning aspect. This would be my ideal build, an s/c 2zr would be machine on the track

It’s the Yaris GRMN car. 200hp output I believe.

Interesting. What's the source on the photo?
I'd lost track of GRMN Yaris news in the fall. If I recall most pictures showed a turbo 1.6L - never figured out what Toyota engine it was as it didn't look like an NZ, ZZ, or ZR or any othe small displacement Toyota I could find. Makes sense to use something solid in the stable and already know to work with and tuned for boost (via Lotus).
In searching around for new articles I found a decent breakdown by Toyota UK here:
http://blog.toyota.co.uk/yaris-grmn-forensic-parts-examination for those interested. The supercharger unit with it'so integral intercooler is obviously king, but those seats make me giddy if they're as good as advertised.

I took it from a video of the japan spec grmn prototype... Same car as eurospec, different body.

Good video, thanks man. Don't understand a word of Japanese, but the critical part was clear: "supercharger".

From what I've been able to piece together, it should be the 1.8L 2ZR from the Series 2 Elise. The 2ZR engine is a drop in fit (it was offered that way in Europe for a few years) so the natural extension is to use the Lotus powerplant. The only difficulty for us in the States is getting access to the parts. Yes, this swap is on my radar in the next 5-ish years.

not difficult. simply go to a lotus dealer with the part number and explain the situation. they are fine with gettin money. 2zz people have done it with ecu swaps.
