The current Avalon (2018) was one of the few models with acceptable exterior design.
Here's the 2019 redesign.

I've seen worse. Other than the huge grill it looks OK. I don't understand this huge grill design trend, especially since the days of a car actually needing a grill are long gone.

I'm definitely out of touch with modern styling trends. Most are trying way too hard to be futuristic, edgy and/or overcompensating alpha-primate. I guess that subtlety is mostly dead. I have a distinct feeling that the next-gen, global-platform Toyota iM/Auris in 2019 is also going to be an over-the-top styling disappointment.

I like it.
I do not like the latest Prius' rear-end stylings though.

Wow, it’s like looking at a Lexus ES. It definitely shares some DNA.

With that surplus grill and all the complex functionless shapes and creases on this vehicle, the straight cut at the front of the hood seems awkward. Can't add that top bit of bumper cover mess to the hood?

Must be getting too old to appreciate some of the current automotive design trends. Had my Yaris oil changed at the Toyota dealer early this morning. Looked at the new cars in the showroom and on the lot. Know one thing for sure; Toyota won't be earning my business now or in the near future. YUK! Ugliest cars on the planet. The trucks, Highlander, and Sienna still pass, IMHO.

Yeah, the styling of vehicles is becoming more & more ridiculous/cartoonish, and/or just downright bad in many cases.
I could deal with a 2018+ refresh version Yaris SE, assuming it was in BLACK ONLY (perfectly stealth styled!) - either in manual or automatic. The iM is okay also to me (in black or barcelona red only), but I wouldn't buy/trust a regular CVT version at this point from any maker. Seems like only the eCVT's from Toyota have shown any measure of long-term, consistent reliability, and those are restricted to hybrid/electric vehicles only (which are all currently crap in terms of styling in the U.S.). So, if I wanted a non-hybrid subcompact/compact Toyota automatic at this point, it would pretty much be BLACK 2018 Yaris SE or nothing. I also wonder if this region of the U.S. will even get the SE Yaris trim any more? The Toyota website won't let you build an SE with our region zip codes entered, and one has yet to pop up anywhere close to AZ, outside of CA. That doesn't bode well.

Oh, and the 2019 Avalon would probably look okay also in (stealth styled) BLACK. Way too large of a car for me though, just like the Camry.

A big ugly boat with odd styling cues, just like the latest Camry. Not a fan. The new 2019 RAV4 is pretty atrocious looking as well - not that the current one looks good either thanks that goofy/overbite front styling.
I think the upcoming new 2019 Corolla (Auris/iM) hatch (XSE) is the only Toyota that I could really stomach at this point - and even then only in black thanks to the front styling. I wonder if the new 2020 Corolla sedan will copy its strange front styling & just be a sedan version of the hatch, or will have a distinctly different look? Time will tell.
