Hi all. I was just wondering if there is a company that makes hydrolic hood lifts for the Yaris. There's a company that makes them for my other car, as well as a bunch of other ones, but they don't make one for us. Any other companies out there?

- I don't know if I can post a link to their site to show what I'm talking about. Edit: link and pic below. :)

Post away!

If they could be convinced to make a set of lifts for the Yaris, those of us doing the battery tie-down GB might be interested!

hood lifts are like condoms... totaly useless... It's this line of tinking that may have gotten 7 out of my 10 fingers broken, and 11 kids. Oh well.

Here you be. I love mine. Wish I could find one for the Yaris.

Mabey the XA one would work. Is it the same hood?

Just emailed them, and they emailed back:

Yes - we hope to have this designed this year sometime - we have already
spec'd it out, just need a volunteer near us in Dexter, MI.

Thanks,

very good .. i'm interested to make the same one dares, 'cause I have a handycap to one hand ...and to open the cowling with a single hand is not the maximum ... very goog and nice idea !

price ?

staticorex

They range from about $70-$110. There are two kinds. The basic and the one with painted braces and stuff.
I have the better one which, I feel, was worth the extra money.

You start to lift the hood and it opens itself the rest of the way. real nice. Mine has two though. We will only need one like the XA cause of the small hood so prolly about 70ish buck for us would be my guess.

Edit: yeah the XA elite is $79.95.

thanks for information , but , i'm think a single lifts is sufficent for the small hood of the yaris ... I see where to find them in Italy , thanks

staticorex
05-26-2007, 03:45 PM
Yeah the Yaris kit should be one lift. The Elite is still one, it just has better parts. I haven't seen a basic one yet. All the people I know who have one have the elite. :)

Ive been tinkering with the measurements using a Hydrolic lift cylinder ment for trunks/hoods that you would recieve from Autozone, costs about 20 bucks for 1, Just need to find a bracket set to mount.

Should have a prototype up in a couple weeks...just waiting for the paycheck.

Oh yeah this is an excerpt from the reply I got from them....
" I was mistaken with the initial though on us having this one spec'd out, I believe the one I was thinking of was the Honda Fit... Either way, we'll set up a time and hopefully within a few hours we'll have the system designed, installed with the manual photos shot."
so every one that is gettin the billet battery hold downs has no need to worry.... when I get up there does anyone have a prefferance on which side the shock goes on? The Xa one goes on the pass side... just wanted to know just incase they ask me

Hooray! :) Pass side sounds good.

And I'm in south central PA so I doubt you want to go that far out of your way, less your an alcoholic. In which case drinks are still up.

Edit: I assume it would be the same specs for sedans and LBs? Same hood right?

Unknown_Epiphany

4 hrs is a long way. If we can get a few guys to go though it may be worth it. Is there anything else there?

Black Yaris
05-28-2007, 03:21 PM
summit racing is near by, we could ask Chino, or possibly move it eastward a bit if he knows of anywhere.... Hudson is about 2 hours for me.... I am always game for road trips.... who cares about 3.49 a gallon!

mmmm ... i send a mail to redline tuning :

Hi , I would want to know which produced (quick - lift) I can use for the cowling of my machine:
a Toyota Yaris d4d m-mt 2007 italian ( equivalent to the american yaris liftback : http://www.familycar.com/RoadTests/ToyotaYaris/Photos.htm ) ,
and if there is the shipment possibility for Italy ,( and how much is the cost and tipe of shipment )

ad they reply is :

Unfortunately, we only create QuickLIFT systems for vehicles we can
get our hands on. We design the whole system to work as it should
from the factory and don't have any universal parts.

'cause .. i dont know :iono:

:help:

I see even with the set for Subie will not be hard to mod and get to work with our hoods.

Weld a short peg at hood side, and drill a hole at fender side... WALA!
I hate to be the guineapig tho!
