Im Installing some floorboard lights this weekend and was wanting to run then to a switch beside my aux jack infront of the e-brake. Now i am uncertain where to run the wires from there. I have a cupple friends that know this kind of stuff coming over to help. I just wanted to know if anyone had any ideas because I do not know ( thats why they are coming over, together they have installed stuff like this in about 18 cars).
Any advice that anyone could give would really help! I just dont want to look like a complete idiot when we get around to it.
p.s. I dont know shit about cars or working on them...

Definitely get help but have your buddy go to Autozone or wherever and get one of these add-a-fuse thingies for mini-fuses:

Here is what mine looks like with two added:

I chose to put them in their own slot rather than putting two fuses into an existing slot - your choice.

the fuse ad-a-slots allow the battery to work for the lighting?... cause i want to get some lights in the ride, but dont want to use the aux power in the dash

Lighting or whatever else you want. We have a bunch of emply slots - both switched and unswitched.

Cheap - about $5.
Here's a better photo:

One fuse supplies power to the original circuit, the other to the red wire. Like I said, I chose to use an empty slot and just use the fuse to the wire.

Not sure, but make sure you check the local laws. I know in Georgia all blinking lights no matter what color other then blinkers are illegal, also a lot of colors esp. blue are illegal.

You also don't want your wife/girlfriend/sister pulling over for some creep with a flashing blue or red light kit, do you?
