Heard any rumors about the RS 5 door becoming available in the U.S?

not going to happen, too many ppl would buy the Yaris 5DR instead of the Matrix and/or Scion's which I am sure they make much more money on

^^^Pretty much what he said. How ever you want to see it as, its sort of a trade-off for lack of a better word. We get Scion, Canada among other places gets the five door and the RS version. But it would step on the heels of the previous xA now the xD which is pretty much a 5-door Yaris, of course modified. Also I think sales of the current 3-door would go down quite a bit. It sucks but that's the way it is. Maybe, just maybe Toyota will add the 5-door but it depends on the market.

Essentially what they said above is correct.

The new xD is the 5-Door RS Yaris (with a different body). It even has the same 1.8L Dual VVTi Motor. When I went to the launch the interior struck me as looking very Yaris like too.

The RS doesn't have the 1.8L... we have the same 1.5L as everybody else. Its only the European TS (or T-Sport) that has the 1.8L. At least for now....!!

Not to get any hopes up but a friend claims he saw a 5 door yarii in Chinatown. I said BS so will go up with him next weekend to find out.
