question bout aux port

okay soooo i have an ipod and the aux jack and i went to best buy and asked them what i need to plug it in and they handed me this reg audio cord or something... anyhu it fit in the audio hole for my ipod and it fit in my aux port but nothing happened i pushed the aux button on my car but nothing...


so heres my question does mac make a special cord for my ipod or was i doing something wrong i need help. i'm not to savvy with this kind of stuff Help! i really wanna listen to my ipod!
