Karr security sytems De-activation key pack?

Well, my '08 Blazing Blue leprosy Yaris is about to be passed down to its new owner. While going through it, I found a card in a plastic bag labeled as in the title. It has a picture of the "De-Activation module" showing how to install it. I looked, and the thing was there, attached with two screws. Why is this thing there? Did the car come with a security system that has been disabled all these years? What would happen if I unplugged this thing?
