Super happy with this event, the course was a little technical and this was my very first autocross event EVER! So happy, this is why I bought the Yaris...drive, race, drive home, drive to work I love this little car!! Thanks to Tom of Armstrong Racing and Garm of Microimage for being a huge inspiration for me, wanted this little hatchback since I was 17!

Welcome to racing! Yaris is a fun little autoX car for sure. Surprised they let you run with wheel-covers on?

Thanks for all the kind words everyone! I'm definitely addicted...love the fact that for a fraction of a car part OR go karting experience (in my area) I'm able to learn safe and smooth driving, its a no brainer!!! Thanks again everyone, I'm so excited to drive it more

Very cool man. Before the summer is over I want to auto x mine too.

I think the Yaris is a great first car (I think its a great whatever number car period - I tell anyone that will listen). Perfect city car and I love the simplicity. My first car as a young teen was a 73 Trans-Am; loud, fast, flat black and a bit rough around the edges, sinister looking - I loved that car's look, sound and power. It couldn't be cooler, but the problems.....it eventually took the fun out of owning it and I got rid of it. That was many years ago in the 80's. It's funny, I've had many different cars and for overall driving fun factor, the Yaris is my favorite. There's something about the small size of it that just makes it fun and I swear, the interior smells like the Trans Am - it always reminds me of that car, I don't know if its the plastic or what, but it's uncanny (only the Yaris is reliable, ha!)

The covers can come off while on course so clubs ask for them to be removed. Otherwise the course workers may have to duck  I've had to run from a muffler and a Corvette; but never a wheel cover.

Where in MD are you?

If you ever need a hand with the car hit me up. I run my Yaris sometimes at FedEx or Summit Point. I prefer running my Tercel however

My thoughts exactly! I had a WS6 Trans Am as well and my previous car (Subaru Forester XT) accumulated so many problems the Yaris was a breath of fresh air! Definitely love my Yaris! Great car that is super lightweight and very toss-able, its a good car to teach, learn, mod and repeat!

I'm in Cockeysville just north of Towson in Baltimore County, good to know there are helping hands if need be! Would love to see the Tercel at the Autox too!
