I live in Miami, FL and last friday I saw a wreck. It was rainy and someone hit a Yaris in the back. The car was fine but the back bumper was messed up. The other car's side airbag was deployed.

i wonder how hard this yaris from qc was hit because it doesn't seem to have intruded far into the cabin, but you can see how side curtain airbags would be nice

from what i have heard and seen the yaris does pretty awesome in a car wreck
