P2401 2010 Yaris Hatchback 90K Quick Pass

Hello, My Daughter is out of state and is coming home for a visit and to have the car emission tested. Will only be in town for five days and of course CEL this week. Code P2401 She said over the last few months it would come on and off every week or so. We talked about over fuel filling and securing the cap. I've read may posts here and elsewhere and cause could be entire EVAP Canister or components or cap or vacuum or.... water in system.... short notice I can not afford new EVAP, Rockauto $525 and not enough time.

I only have a few days and I'm looking for some basic things to try so it can pass for now and address real fix when out of state. In a bit of a panic and just need a Pass on the test for now. Add some HEET if water in tank or ???

Quick check of the gas cap o-ring? I've had a a MIL/CEL come on for evap. related issues (sorry, don't recall if it was the same code) on a car and found the o-ring was a little old and dry looking. I took it off, lubed it with a bit of grease, and rolled in back in place with the inner side facing out - so the older, dry side that had been facing out was now in. Worked a treat for a while.. Worth a try if you're in a pinch.

Thanks will have her check the gas cap O-Ring. Other suggestions? I think I need to cast a wide net
