I just bought a car for my daughters mother-in-law. She and her husband have fallen on hard times and they can’t afford a car. So I bought them a 96 Tercel that’s been maintained by Toyota, garaged, and detail every year. One interesting thing is that the coolant has never been changed! It’s black. The car is 22 years old and has 96,000 miles on it. The owner gave Toyota carte blanche to do whatever they thought was necessary but apparently they didn’t think that was necessary!
Needless to say the first thing I’ve got to do is change the coolant And clean the corroded positive battery terminal!
