Had the opportunity to spend some time driving a Hyundai Kona. No, I'm not looking for a new car. I'm extremely happy with my Buick Encore. In fact, the Encore is at the top of my list of favourite cars I've ever owned (leased in this case).
The Konas unusual exterior design trim didn't appeal to me much, but the interior was surprisingly nice. The driver's seat was comfortable and the adjustable lumbar support effective.
Although the Kona is considered a subcompact SUV, you sit low in the seat and it feels and drives more like an economy hatchback. It really wasn't unlike driving a Yaris. In normal mode the automatic tranny was sluggish, but in sport mode the 2.0L actually performed similar to the Yaris.
Seemed like a decent little car, but I wasn't impressed. And, at $24K and minimal incentives, the Tucson could be had for much less!
To be sure, Hyundai cars are not my cup of tea; too many problems and lousy dealer customer service.
