Decided to paint my roof black, been tossing around with the idea for a while, came out nice in my opinion. Any one else had there's painted or is it more common to get it wrapped? https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180721/1f60f70f3ed7e7934f9f1654a88fa46f.jpg

I usually always wrap mine unless there is a big amount of paint fade/clear fade or rust pin holes..

wrapping is cheaper a giant roll of dennison will set you back about 30 dollars after shipping paint will be around 100 can do the wrap at home on a hot day.

Fortunately I'm a panelbeater so paint for me is extremely cheap, using PPG does come at a cost but since I'm doing all the work it's much more cost effective luckily.

Looks good. I always thought that my white Yaris would look good with just the roof black like what you did.

Cool! Probably made it faster too. At least it looks faster. ;)
It reminds of the SE/Autobahn trim levels of the GTI with their black panoramic sunroof.

Blue Leds on the interior make it cooler too.

I love the panda black/white combo. My bro-in-law had a white BMW 3 series a few years back. He threw a CF hood and trunk on it and wrapped the roof. Looked great. Have you considered also doing the hood and hatch?

But to be honest I'm happy with how it is now. I don't want to overdo it.

Id also stop there. the only reason I havent followed suit is because the white roof keeps internal temps down here..

I'll leave it as it is now. Turned out as expected. The temperature in the car on a hot day hasn't risen too much so far, fingers crossed it doesn't become a fireball.

How much wrap did you need to do the roof? I have a 2007 that I want to wrap the roof and maybe the pillars since the clear coat is peeling badly.

Oops. Must have misread what you typed. I don't have a place I could DIY paint myself, so wrap would be the way the go for me if I wanted to do this myself.

I mean i was using a paintbooth so contamination is hardly anything. Black paint can show up mistakes easily, so a wrap is far safer.
