Hi All...

Planning to change the coolant on my 08 Sedan and since the car has 210,000km, I am going to change out the main radiation hoses(2 x upper, and 1 x lower)...

Has anyone tried the Gates hoses? and how well molded are they to the OEM shape?

Thanks!

I've used Gates on numerous vehicles. Can't ever recall an issue.

Is there a particular reason to change hoses after some mileage? As long as they are not leaking, not cracked and not extremely soft or hard, I would be quite satisfied with keeping them as they are.

It would suck to redo this if it starts leaking months after coolant change. And it's bad for the environment as well, so might as well just replace the hoses while the system is empty anyway.

"Provided it's 10years old"

I always change all my main hoses during every flush. Usually every 3 or 4 years. The Yaris' hoses are so inexpensive it's a no brainer.

This winter I will throw a set of hoses in a cart at rockauto and wait for a good coupon. Will be ready for next summer.

Be sure to use the Toyota super duper red coolant....it is supposed be less harmful to to the rubber.
