Hi all,
So I have now had the Engine Management Light (EML) come on twice, showing code P0403 when read. This has happened at the end of a long journey (Around 150 miles). In both cases, the light has turned itself off and no loss in power was felt but I am wondering whether it is best practice to clean the EGR and potentially change the control solenoid so that this does not happen again.
The car has been driven 130 miles a day for 9 months before and now does around 50 miles a day, of which these drives are all at 70mph on the Motorway. The car is also a diesel, was made in 2007 and has covered 178,000 miles so far. So I think the code popping up, could probably be fixed with a good clean of the EGR.
If anyone has had any experience with either removing the EGR valve or with this code before, then I would be interested in hearing how you have fixed this problem.
