Anyone know the type of material used within the roof of the interior ? And would anyone know if there is anything one can get to stick something to this material ?

Are you asking what if anything is sandwiched between the headliner and sheet metal?
What is it you want to do when you refer to getting something to stick to it? Some background and details will provide for meaningful responses.

I want to stick something to the headliner cloth within the car. If anyone knows any thing which I can get to stick to this material, is all I want to know; if it's possible ?

Well the next questions are;
What do you want to stick to the headliner?
Do you want whatever it is to be permanently or temporarily stuck to the headliner?

Hard to say if I want it permanently as I may want to remove it a year from now. What I want to stick to the headliner is a light.

If it's just a light like those stick-on push lights why not just stick it to the side pillars.

I must have the light coming from the top.

Something like this is all I can think of if you desire a possibly temporary mount. These products are available in varying adhesive strengths.

Already thought of Velcro. It won't work as it may leave a residue or it may not hold the light. Besides I don't want to have anything stuck on the headliner.

Well then, with everything you've just outlined, you've backed yourself into a no solution corner.

Not really, if I can sew something on the headliner, it may work.

Then get non sticky backed Velcro.

I know, that is what I'm thinking of doing. The sewing part will be difficult. Toyota needs to consider putting a light above near the back, it can be dark especially in the winter months and someone who uses the car has bad eyes.

There is a thread here somewhere from a member who put two lights in the rear. Much like you want to do by the sounds of it. I tried searching for it with no luck. Can't think of appropriate search terms that would locate it.

Put a strong led in the middle and you will be fine. And it’s the most elegant solution
