I need some help on buying obd scanner for my yaris YRS 2008 5 door hatchback? Where can I find these info of what version of obd it's using?

Thank you!!!!! Do you have any good recommendations for any scanner under 100 bucks?There are literally hundreds of scanners available. Just search eBay or any such market place site. Even the most basics ones will suffice. Typically the more expensive ones are loaded with software that describes the code and list possible causes. All you need is a reader that will show you what codes are triggered and the ability to reset. Then just consult the internet to read up on codes displayed on your reader.

Topdon makes great scanners in a wide range range if prices. I have the elite which was around $150 iirc, and it read abs, srs and give live data charting feature.

They sell a sub $100 one that doesnt do live data or abs and are codes but will.cover most of what you need. It's a quality product that costs a fraction of brand name scanners.

If you don't want abs or srs capability, then your good to go with something like this.
