Hi everyone, just wondering what kind of mileage everyone is getting with the recent cold temps.

I just hit my worst tank in years, with 9.5L/100km, 24.8mpg, with temps from -28 to -40C.

My first 1/8th bar usually go 130km or so when I'm not heavy footed. This tank got me 53km XD

We had temps about -34C to about -26 (daytime) and I got about 28mpg. During summer, I can get 40-42mpg pretty easily.

Yeah, my Yaris always get a pretty big hit in winter. At least gas is cheaper hah.

Are you guys in extreme-cold areas parked indoors and/or fitted w/ block or coolant heaters of some sort?

Do your cold Toyotas make any odd buzzes or rattles after firing up?

I don't plug my vehicles in anymore. I used to put them on a timer with 4 hours heating before startup. During a cold snap, I'll start and run a vehicle if it's not going to be used for a few consecutive days. Sometimes my van will make a little bit of noise, similar to a power steering pump low on fluid, but it usually lasts for only 2 - 3 seconds. Then, it's quieter than when it's warmed up and the oil thins a bit.

I park outdoors and don't have any heaters. When it's really, really cold I can get some wheezing/whirring at startup but it goes away after 5-10 seconds, typically.
