Hi everyone. i must say that this is the BEST place for a Yaris owner to be! So much info for everything, helped me more times that i can remember.
THANK YOU EVERYBODY.

I live in Greece and i have a Yaris 1.0 model year 2000. It is an unbreakable tool.
Yesterday i went to a friend's shop and parked outside with the alarms on, and stayed for about 30 minutes. When i tried to start the car the battery had not enough juice (crak tiktiktitk...!!!)
I think it is time to change the battery, though after i started the car (pushed it and gear in..) the car was ok (no problem starting it up).
Well, to make a long story short, i searched through the web for a new battery, and i decided to go for a YUASA YBX3063. I asked the sales guy to tell me the manufacture date of the battery but he could not tell me, but gave me the date coding that is stamped on the battery :

Two codes were stamped 54D01C2Z & 2101D33 (i guess one is the manufacture date and the other the warranty date (?).

I searched all over the place in the web and couldn't find a way to translate these codes. Anyone can help please?
Thanks alot in advance.

Wow, that was fast !
Thank you 2bz, but i already found that pdf, and it seems to apply on NP type batteries.
So, probably 2101D33 means 2=2002 , 10=October , 1=1rst of the month D33=Plant,
is this correct?
And what 54D01C2Z means?

Well, i sent an e-mail to https://www.yuasa.co.uk/contacts/ , and they replied instantly !!
What an excellent customer service !!
The reply was that the battery was produced in January 2017. So the battery to be sold to me is 2 years old. Bummer...

Still, i am curious how the date code is translated..

That link is for A NP gel battery

Unless you have a reciept for the battery there is no warrenty

5-7 years is the average life of a battery, the cold winter weather will kill a weak battery dead as will short runs, check the alternator is putting out the correct voltage

If the battery is new, i.e., never been filled with acid, it has infinite shelf life.

2bz, the battery shops only charge the batteries before delivery to the customer, so that means for a "service-free" sealed type battery (like the Yuasa YBX3000) there is no acid filling like old type batteries, so my opinion is that shelf life does matter (more than 6-12 months), the materials inside start to deteriorate, am i correct?

Since i started the car and the battery was charged, i didn't have any more start-up problems, so i think there would not be any alternator problem..
