Brake pedal travel

I just noticed today that the brake only moves probably 3 to 4 inches, is this normal? I tried lifting the pedal and there is no movement backwards.

And if the battery is disconnected do I need to do anything related to the abs module or is it ready to go once battery has been connected

Brake pedal travel souds about right. Youre good to go with the abs.
