Turned in my 2017 Buick Encore lease 2 months early. Car only had 10K miles on the clock and was in showroom condition. The dealer liked the car, bought it, and made the last 2 payments for me. The Encore was an outstanding car, and I enjoyed every minute of driving it. In fact, it was my favourite car ever!

I would have been very happy with another Encore, but no good deals at this time. I found this 2019 Buick Envision Essence... and the lease was just too good to pass up. It's certainly a different driving experience than the Encore, but I think I'll enjoy it.

Very nice! The Envision is a step bigger than the Encore, right?

I agree with others, the interior is very plush looking.

Let's help break it in properly with a nice San Diego cruise

I was sad to let the Encore go. I really liked that car. It wasn't unlike the Yaris in many respects; small hatchback with jellybean styling, go-cart like handling, and rather low on tech bloat save for push-button start and backup camera. The little 1.4 turbo and 6-speed automatic transmission performed flawlessly and provided plenty of pep, and I was able to achieve in the mid 40MPG on the open road! In addition, it was incredibly comfortable and quiet... and the build quality, materials, and paint finish were first class. Sadly, I can't say that about Toyota.

The Envision is a different driving experience altogether; it's more like driving an insulated luxury vehicle that's dead quiet and more comfortable than you can imagine. Like all Buicks, the seats are firm yet supportive... and my back is very happy. The car exhibits minor body roll and steering response is a bit slow, but neither is objectionable. The NA 2.5 and 6-speed auto propel the car invisibly, but when you get on the accelerator, the engine howls beautifully. Materials, fit and finish, and paint quality appear to be outstanding. I like the very conservative sheet-metal design with its subtle creases and flowing lines that please the eye from any viewing angle. I think I'll enjoy driving this car for the next 3 years. Clearly, I'm getting old.

One year review: 2019 Buick Envision Essence

I've been driving this car for exactly one year today, and I have to say I love it!

With 12,000 miles on the clock, it has performed flawlessly, and I haven't discovered even one quality issue.

With all the trips I've taken to and from Nevada this past year, paint quality has proven next to bullet proof; not even a nick on the front end!

While it doesn't achieve the greatest gas mileage, it certainly is quiet and comfortable, and it performs very well. It's a real pleasure to drive.

I'm looking forward to another year or two with this car. I am enjoying every minute behind the wheel.

Glad that you enjoy the Envision Essence. I'm not even sure what it is about SUV's that make me instinctively want to hate them, but I do for some reason.

My interest in SUV's all started with my 2017 Buick Encore. I immediately liked the dorky jellybean shape of that car; it reminded me of my '07 Yaris.

The Encore was actually just a small hatchback that was quick enough, very nimble, and had tons of interior volume. Unlike the Toyota, the paint quality was outstanding. It also had the advantage of being tomb quiet, happy to cruise all day long at 80MPH and feel like 50MPH, and it had the most comfortable seats ever. Interesting that it was an Opel (Germany) platform assembled in South Korea... without a single issue with fit, finish, and materials. I loved that car!

I wanted to get another Encore, but good deals weren't to be found anywhere. I stumbled upon the Buick Envision (Opel Platform) for an unbelievable deal that I couldn't pass up. Of course, it doesn't have the fun factor of the Encore, and it took a bit to get used to driving a bigger car, but I am really enjoying it and the extra space for toting things around.

I came very close to buying an Encore a few years ago because it looks so good and was well reviewed. I see they have a newer updated one called the Encore GX which is slightly larger. The Envision looks very nice too!

Two year review: 2019 Buick Envision Essence

19,600 miles. No issues whatsoever. Not a single quality lapse to report. This car is so comfortable and quiet that it instills a real sense of peace every minute I'm behind the wheel. Another year and I'll have to decide what my next ride will be... and that won't be easy.

Traded in my 2019 Buick Envision June 26th. With just over 20K miles on the clock, the Michelins had only a few thousand safe miles left on them, and the registration was due. With the crazy price of used cars these days, the dealer paid off my lease 10 months early and gave me $500 cash. Made a really sweet deal on a new 2021.

I think the XT6 is built on the same platform as the Chevy Traverse, Buick Enclave, and GMC Acadia.

Nice car. Could never bring myself to own a GM myself though.

Nice car. Could never bring myself to own a GM myself though.

I've owned more Toyotas than I can remember. I was hooked on Toyotas until 2017. Toyota clearly builds the most reliable car on the planet for the long term.

When I was interested in my first small SUV, I drove everything on the market, and with some apprehension finally broke away from Toyota and chose a 2017 Buick Encore (Opel platform built in Korea), and that car quickly became my favourite car of all time! The build, fit and finish, comfort, and paint quality put Toyota to shame.

I've since had a 2018, 2019, and now 2021 GM product, and I have no complaints whatsoever. Of course, I can't attest to long term reliability, but that is of no concern since I only keep a car for about 2 years now. At this point, I don't see myself ever driving a Toyota again; there just isn't enough to like in the short term.

Yup. I haven't used the big control knob yet, but the BMW style shifter shouldn't exist.

That pic with the floating roof design makes it look really long.

^^^ Yup. Great time to sell! And... I actually got an excellent deal on the new car. With discount and rebates, about $2750 off MSRP. No markups. Happy.

Yeah, previous owner seems pretty obsessed about getting that M-designation seen on this non-M-car.
