K&N intake tube

The intake tube on my K&N cold air intake has a baffle in it. Just seeing if anyone has removed the baffle from theirs.

I am semi hesitant to remove it. I know sometimes intakes are modified to increase the velocity of the air to keep the mass flow sensor happy.
