$1400 to fix, $2000 to repaint entire car.

Looking for cheaper options for my 07 Yaris to at least prevent it from getting worse.

Quick easy and cheap way would be to buy multiple cans of plastidip and just dip the whole car.

Maybe a YarisWorld sponsorship opportunity...

But seriously, is there a way to just apply a clear coat and call it patina?

I’d try sanding a sample area with 1500 grit paper to see if it’s just surface grime. Otherwise it’d be best to just pay the extra $600 for a repaint.

Let this be a lesson to hand wax every six months.

I'd be all over that. $2000.00 for a full repaint? It, of course, depends on the quality of the job. I was looking at over $4K to have mine painted, professionally. That's why I decided to paint it myself. Most body shops today only want to do collision work as it results in a higher profit margin, especially if put through insurance.
