Replace Single clip on Bumper

What are the types of clips along the edge of the rear bumper and how can I replace a single clip ?

You can't. They are "tabs" and part of the moulding. They, in turn, push into a plastic bracket which is attached to the car body and secured with one bolt.

Its a very common issue on the mk3 yaris, purchase new ones from the main dealer

My pictures have gone!
The pictures were of brackets that the bumpers attach to. They are different, left side and right side (i.e. handed)
There are no "clips" which may be renewed, only the brackets. so I don't know what Bob is referring to?
The bumper pushes directly into the brackets using tabs on the edge of the moulding.

If you scoll throught the pictures the edge which pushes into the bracket shows the tabs. Third picture from the end. The tas push into the rectangular holes at the top of the bracket.

@pjon - That looks like the clip for the bumper; although how do I remove the old one and especially get the new one on the bumper ?

Remove the bumper, remove the old bracket, fit the new bracket, refit the bumper

As Bob says, but I'll try to explain. Where handed?!
You should be able to achieve replacing one side's black bracket without removing the bumper moulding fully. I've done it on mine.
If you open the hatch door there are two bolts each side (I think)(10mm socket). Remove the relevant one(s) completely.
You then need to go underneath the bumper and remove the push pin type fixings. Prise out the centre pin and remove the plastic rivet. Possily around 6 of them.
This will allow enough flexibility to pull those tabs out of their respective holes in the black bracket. It's a bit daunting but they will pull out.
The moulding will then pullaway sufficiently to remove one bolt (10mm socket again). The bracket will pull out but be careful, it is hooked under the wheelarch at the front,pull out from the rear of the car first.
It's a bit of a fiddle manipulating the bracket into position with the hooked end. Then push firmly home and refit the bolt.
Make sure that the tabs are properly lined up with their respective holes in the bracket and push until they click into place.
Refit bolt under hatch door. Refit the plastic pins underneath.

Last I knew, you owned a 2012 sedan. Why have you posted a pic of a gen3 hatch which isn't even plated with the country you live in?

What exactly is wrong with your actual vehicle? Do you really have a problem with the body side bracket, or are the tabs on the bumper cover damaged?

@WeeYari - It was a hatchback. The problem is strictly on the bumper, and is a tab or bracket. The picture is from a North American Yaris hatchback which I have as I live in North America.

You have to be clear on either tab or bracket. Body bracket is nearly indestructible. Bumper tabs are very fragile and easily broken. If you have a broken tab, then replacing a bracket will do nothing for you.

You've had it then. Unless the tab has not broken off, but bent, it might, only might, be recoverable.
My experience with his was because I reversed into a plantpot - don't ask. The bumper popped out and the rectangular holes into which the tabs secure were distorted. The tabs were bent but with a bit of gentle heat, they bent carefully back into position. I only had to fit a new bracket. They are very strong but those holes seem quite weak.
Unfortunately I don't have any pictures, sorry.
I have seen Youtube videos in which it has been possible to form new tabs by melting plastic onto the bumper and shaping to fit. Not for the faint hearted!

No, you can not. The tabs are formed in the bumper mold. They are not separate replaceable parts. It is possible to mend a broken tab with a product like JB Weld. No guaranteed success, but possible.

It's not an ideal set up where individual fixings can be replaced. No doubt the design makes factory assembly much quicker and easier. Plus fixing clips don't need manufacturing and buying. That's a few cents/pennies saved.
