Hey All,

Wiper switch went on me in my 2012 Yaris. Mechanic wants $250 (canadian) for a replacement stalk/switch. But I could get one used from a 2014 Prius for $125 instead.

Can I upgrade the wiper switch in a 2012 Yaris with the switch from a 2014 Prius? I think it should be part #84652-48180 which would work for a 2nd gen yaris for sure. The thread on intermittent wiper upgrade (here: http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15512 ) no one ever says for sure it will work on 2012 yaris, or just on the 2006-2011

Should fit fine. I swapped an Australian 2012 Corolla wiper stalk onto my Australian 2012 Yaris and now have intermittent wipers. The part number you provided is shared with a lot of other models, and I suspect it'd probably also be a direct fit. Provided it fits, I don't see you having any trouble with the function of the wipers/switch.

Thanks for the input! I guess I'll go pick the part up on Monday and see if i can make it work!

FYI The process for changing the stalk over was exactly the same as a 2006 - 2011. No need to remove the steering wheel.

good to know - I had tried briefly, removed the three screws but had trouble pulling the bottom cover piece off. I'll try again!

Thought I'd drop confirmation here that #84652-48180 worked great in my japan-built NA standard 2012 Yaris LE. Variable intermittent front wiper, back wiper doesnt work variable but works fine when its on (same as the 06-11 models).

I believe some of the Camry wiper stalks will fit. They look exactly the same except of course there are more intermittent speeds to chose from. Not sure but depending on the Camry trim level they are the same probably 2010-2013 model years. I was going to do it myself but never got around to it. You'll spot the correct stalk right away and apparently it's pretty straightforward. Good luck.
