I bought the last, new, never titled, 2018 Yaris liftback* in the Midwest, this past Dec 24th. From Lincoln Park Toyota in Chicago. Had 32 miles on it [now 900] and was in stock since July 2018, but kept in an indoor facility.

Got it for $16,000, sticker was 18,800.
LE 5 door model, [wheel in avatar] white. Had an L and was tired of not having convenient "stuff". The 18's got backup camera and other features standard, and LE has alloys, remote key and power mirrors.

I looked at the 2020 new style hatch and it was just not as roomy in front seat [and more $], and gave up that idea. Not because of Mazda bits, though, since Toyota had some say in it.

* For 2018 the hatchback was marketed as "liftback", and only one year in the US. So, it's a 'rare' car.

There are still some unsold 2018's nationwide, but mainly 2 doors, and L trims. If looking for a used 2018, there are a few in Anchorage, Alaska, of all places! Even SE's!

I thought about buying that car but I wanted a really good deal. They wouldn't budge enough so I bought a 2019 Mitsubishi Mirage SE instead.

Congratulations!

I bought my 2017 in a somewhat similar fashion. It had been sitting on the lot for over a year and they wanted it gone.

Enjoy your new ride.

Congrats on the new Yari.

It would have been a huge pain in the ass & some added expense, but I sort of wish I would have spent the extra time/effort/money, gone out-of-state & tracked down a new/used 2018 Yaris SE 4-AT hatch instead of my current 2020 Corolla SE 6-MT sedan. I'm just more of a (authentic Toyota) Yaris subcompact person than I am a Corolla compact/mid-size person.

In Anchorage, there are about 6-7 used 2018, and 3 or so are SE's. Check CarGurus.
Average 10k miles and $12-14k, but shipping to 'lower 48' would cost $$.

The white one, at first they asked $17,700 and then when they asked what I'd pay they accepted $16k, [Edmunds True Value, for leftover]. I knew that was rock bottom, and added TTL. But, months ago, they'd not sell that low, needed to clear it out for New Year, I figured.

First looked at used demo LE, black, with 5000 miles, but said I'd think about it, but then was 'sold' 2 days later. I think put back in as a loaner,
