Everything I see about the GR Yaris just bums me out even more that it won't be sold in the US.

They call it a Global Release so I had hopes it would finds its way to the US but it seems like that’s a no

If Toyota thought that there was a decently-sizable market for it (in terms of profit) then they would release it here. Unfortunetly (& sadly), the U.S. is the land of abundant muffin-tops driving their SUV/Crossover vehicles & Trucks. :bellyroll: They would never pay $30-40K for a subcompact "Yaris" performance car - even if they could actually fit into them.

absolutely right. And honestly, I doubt I'd buy it. It would be hard to justify with 3 kids and a dog.

You can get a nice gently used Benz for 30-40k. I actually seen a low mileage 2008 s550 amg for 32k yesterday. And I'll even bet at 8400 lbs, it's faster.

It may be faster, but who wants an overpriced vehicle you can’t service yourself with terrible resale and reliability record?

Not saying I would buy a car that requires a $2300 alternator. Just pointing out for $30-40k, a yaris wouldn't be on 99% of peoples short list. Much nicer cars can be had for that price.

Yeah, I agree performance cars are a special niche, but if I were Toyota, it’s worth a shot to try something new. To me the Supra is overpriced and being a bmw essentially with its designed drivetrain. I have yet to see one anywhere around here, I don’t see the demand for it personally. The 50k range puts a lot of people out of reach for buying something with performance.
