I agree with that, sometimes.:frown:
It is all about a manufacturer's strategy for different regions.

Yeah. We get the Scion xD with the same engine on a similar platform. I'd rather have the Yaris.

small cars like the yaris is not very common in USA yet..
We have a B-200 turbo (mercedez-benz) in Canada.. looks like it's not available in the states neither :P
don't be too surprised the yaris ts COULD come to Canada.. first..one day. hehe :)

yes the US realy sux... no 5 DR... no RS.... no TS
hopefull real small cars will become more popular here as they have in the rest of the world, due to gas prices, and we start getting some cool sub compacts over here... I would love to start seeing sooped up Puegot's or Citroen's

There is an interior photo of the TS steering column I viewed that looked like it tiny speaker grills on the bottom edge. I thought maybe that is where they stuck some speakers. I know it would be unusual, but I couldn't figure out what was attached to the steering column.

the rumors here in europe are that the US will get nicer models but on the corolla line, that the yaris line will not be getting Hi-end models like the TS. Just to give you an idea of the price I paid here for the Yaris TS is the equivalent of about 24,000 US Dollars! Thats the range of the Camry! So im not sure! It would be nice tho to have something like the TS available in the US!

OHH, ok I think I know which photo you are talking about. No, that were the ingnition key cylinder is supposed to be, but since my car has the remote keyless entry and start option, there is a plastic cover! I will post the pic larger so you can see!!!
I've already got the 5dr liftback and am quite happy with the power delivery from the 1.5L mated to the 5spd manual transmission. (perhaps the automatic could use the bigger engine)
But, whats with other Toyota on the lot? The one beside the Yaris looked very intresting...basically taking the same design but making it more practical and then there's the more edgy Toyota at the end of the line, which looked like it had some attitude. I'd like to take those cars for a test spin.

LOL. Well, the one on the far left is the new 2007 Toyota Auris. which im sure you will see in the US as a corolla or the new matrix! The other is the Rav4 and the one at the end is the cheapest car in the toyota line, which is the one I traded for the Yaris TS. Thats the 2006 Toyota Aygo! is a 3 cyl, 69 HP city car!, here is a better pick of him!

Thats what I was looking at. Cool, mystery solved.
Thanks IY. With gas prices gaining on those of Europe, there's probably a place for the Aygo here in N.A. Especially if the little 1.4 diesel can get 75mpg (US).

Hopefully we'll get the Corolla liftback here in NA (even if it's marketed as a Matrix).
Let us know how the TS stacks up against your old Aygo, I hope the increase in fuel consumption isn't going hurt too much.

Gas wise? there is a bit of a difference! But I am lucky since i live right on the border with switzerland, so I get a discount for the gas, but I could always go fill it up in Switzerland, which is almost 40 % cheaper! The Aygo does with a full tank about 600 km! and it has a 35 Liter tank! so thats about 16 km to the liter! the Yaris TS with double the size of engine and HP, it does about 600 km also to the tank, being a 42 Liter tank, so thats about a 7.2km per liter. BUT IS ALL WORTH IT!!!!!
So, that's like 5.8 L/100km vs 7L/100km (Aygo vs TS). The bigger engine in the TS is getting some awesome fuel rating, considering that I'm only getting about 6.5L/100km with my 1.5L Yaris.
Thinking of your Italian TS, brings back fond memory of the Amalfi Cost. If you haven't done that drive, I'd put it on the to-do list (especially behind the wheels of a TS). When I was there several years ago, we did the drive from Napali to Sorento in a tour bus, but I was pining for my slammed Civic Hatch or equavalent. It would have made for a great drive.

OHH, thats cool! I wil keep it in mind! The dealer took me with a TS to the Monza Track! OMG that was just awesome! The car was completely stock and it drove a dream! I want to take it to Germany for a few days to go to the Nurburing Track! Hopefully this year!:burnrubber: But I will keep this in mind! thanks.
