I have a 2012 Yaris and wouldn't mind adding Android Auto to it.

Do any of the new non-integrated AA/CP head units work on the Yaris? I was thinking about the basic one that comes on the base Tacoma SR. It would be cool if they integrated with the vehicle a little and showed the fuel economy graphs/etc.

Here's this one from a base model Tacoma (7-inch) that's $999 (lol) -- apparently the MSRP on this is like five or 6 grand, but I was wondering if I might want to set up some eBay and CL alerts if any cheap ones materialize from part-outs.

Obviously my car isn't going to have all of these connections but I was wondering if it would work well enough if it had power and speaker connections and if I ran a new USB connection to something more convenient than in the glove compartment.

Or would it be better to just go 3rd-party with a Sony or something?

Ebay options galore
Here's one for < $80 https://www.ebay.com/itm/10-1-2-DIN-Android-8-1-Car-Stereo-MP5-Player-GPS-Navi-WiFi-Bluetooth-FM-Radio/383372491963?hash=item5942c7fcbb:g:swUAAOSw1T1eHzc 0

I bought this one on Ebay in 2015 for about $70. Daily use.
16gb USB stick there - movies, MP3's. Above that is a SD card slot.
You will need an electrical adapter and a mounting kit.
There are a bunch more options 5 years later. I may buy a newer upgrade now that I'm looking at them.
