I picked up 5 jugs as I now have a VW Golf with the 2.5 i5 engine. However, I am considering running this in my 2ZR-swapped and turbo Yaris. Feel free to weigh in!

Here's a low-budget video:

What was that, a local store manager's special? I don't see the stuff on walmart.ca

I'm not really sure, WeeYari. I couldn't find it online either (USA or Canada). I grabbed the 3 jugs at one store and as I passed by another Walmart, I grabbed the two they had. I really hope it's a mainstay of Walmart. But, no, there was no reduced sticker, "roll back" or anything. Something's not right, as that's just too good a price for such an oil. I was happy to see though that Walmart Canada now seems to be stocking the SuperTech full syn in all grades.

Walmart does clearance sales like that all the time, probably to get rid of old stock that isn't selling. The last time I saw that I got 4L jugs of Castrol ATF for $8

Interesting! The only thing is is that I have never seen this SuperTech 5W40 at Walmart - either USA or Canada. In fact, the SuperTech Full Synthetic in 5W20 and 5W30 just started showing up in Canadian Walmarts in the last few months. Before that, it was call "Tune It" oil, but the same product as SuperTech, made by WPP, I believe. I do wonder if the Canadian Walmarts will continue to sell the SuperTech Full Syn. I sure hope they do, especially if the pricing stays the same. $19.97 for 5L of syn 5W40 is outrageously cheap.

And the Supertech stuff has always been good. I didn't think about it much but I guess it's been gone a while. I ran it for a full year in one of my race cars in the 90's on a bet.

I didn't blow up so I won the bet

My opinion: keep the 0w40 Euro for your Euro car. Run the proper 0w20 on your 2zr, there is absolutely nothing to be gained but running the 0w40 in your 2zr.

Somewhere in my past posts was info about me (incorrectly) running a 5w30 in my 2zr on track due to high coolant and oil temps. 0w20 actually dropped my oil temps (as it should) and I never came close to being outside the specs for oil pressure put out by Toyota.

The only way going up in weight makes sense is if you are putting the engine oil outside of it pressure specs. Temp isn't the issue, pressure is and pressure is a product of temp and dependent on the specs of the oil pump.

There are many race teams who have dyno'd MOAR POWAAH running 0w20 then on thicker oils.

I have spent way too many days reading studies and forums to satisfy my empirical brain to convince me of what oil to run. Spoiler alert: much of what you hear at the track that is old info passed down is no longer relevant with today's oil and is often just outright incorrect...needing to run a thick oil is one of them and needing to drain oil after every track session is another.

Found it at my local Walmart. $19.97 with a $12.00 rollback indicated.

Just to be clear. That is a rollback from $31.97, not a roll down to $7.97

Nothing beats when I found walmart valvoline 5w30 5l jugs at 6.88. Clearly a price error. I bought 12!

Good enough for me. Will stick with the 5W20 and monitor oil pressures. I doubt my 2ZR will ever get as hot as yours as I don't track it. Thin is in!

Is this Walmart Canada? That's the old USA price. Now it's $15.97 or something in the USA. Gotta head to my local Walmart (Canada) and grab 4 - 5 jugs! Sweet. I just discovered an old Walmart gift card in my wallet a couple of days ago from a few Christmases ago. $100.00! I think I'll grab maybe 4 jugs. Hopefully there's some left. What I think I have on my side is that most Canadians probably don't know how good SuperTech is - therefore - there should be some left on the shelves!

Yes it is Canada. You are seeing this weeks flyer. Don't know if there are regional differences.

I went to the one in Burlington after work Thursday morning and they were all gone. There's also a 5W30 full syn brand name oil on for $28 too.
I'll check Brantford today but my guess is they're all gone
